Deep in the belly of the Pike Place Market on Seattle's waterfront is a hidden little gem called the Alibi Room. It is a trick to find; you have to go down what appears to be a service ramp from the Market to Post Alley. Passing by the famous "gum wall" a very ordinary doorway brings you into this small, comfortable bar/restaurant/nightspot.
The view is metropolitan. I think it is an apartment building, but you're looking at each other, right? Good beers on draft and a decent wine list compliment a menu of fired oven pizzas and fresh, original appetizers. I'd recommend the Margherita pizza with fresh market tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and basil on a crisp garlic crust.
Weekends they have DJ's spinning the beats, and given its location, you'll be mingling with a pretty hip crowd. Perfect for a first date, or munchies after a movie.

This is one of my favorite Seattle nightspots. It is a grand venue for an eclectic line up of musical acts, a fabulous eating experience and a romantic hideaway for you and that special companion. The musical venue/dining room is decorated in the style of a 1940's supper club. The booths are semi-circular, roomy yet private (a romantic smooch or two won't offend anyone). All have a straight line of sight to performers and none are more than 40 feet from the stage.
The food is an outrageously good combination of Tai, Chinese and other Asian fare, being prepared upstairs at the world class Wild Ginger restaurant. It is served by a courteous efficient wait staff who are super attendant, and know enough not to stand in front of you during the show.
After the show, unless you're going straight to her place, I recommend you visit the Musicquarium lounge where tasty music is the main item on the menu. I've heard some outstanding blues and jazz in the relaxed atmosphere, enjoying a good selection of wines or draft beer. There is never a cover charge at the Musicquarium, so this is some of the best free entertainment in town.
All in all, the Triple door is a great place for the first date, or anniversary celebration, providing world class entertainment and food in a relaxed but elegant venue.

For years Dimitriou's has been the premiere venue for musical greats and legends. I remember the old days when it was a small dining area with a stage at one end. Over the years they expanded to a full-fledged supper club with a great sound system and utilitarian, yet comfortable facilities, seating almost 400.
Name any famous performer in the world of jazz, blues, funk or international and the odds are they have played here. From avant garde to classic, from young to old, this is the place in Seattle where they all shine.
A few things you need to know: Ticket prices are generally very reasonable. Parking is free right behind the building. If you make dinner reservations, you will be seated right in front of the artist. If you aren't seated there, you will be off to the side and perhaps even a bit behind the performers. There is a balcony, and the view is generally good from up there.
The menu is somewhat limited, but the wine and beer lists are adequate. Service is good, but they need to know when not to stand in front of the performance. The music is at volume, so although this could be a romantic evening, you won't get much conversation in during the show.
